Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Aksharly (aksharly.com), operated by Ranith kumar Chinthakindi, Hyderabad, India ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.

The service

Aksharly generates captions for short videos and returns a copy of your video with the captions burned in. Captions are produced automatically by speech-recognition software and may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing them before publishing.

Your account

We use passwordless login: you give us your email address and we send a one-time code. Keep your email address secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.

Credits

Credits are prepaid and non-transferable. One credit entitles you to caption one video up to 90 seconds long. Credits do not expire. The free trial covers one video up to 30 seconds with a small watermark.

Payments

Payments are processed by Razorpay. We receive order and payment IDs; we never see your card, UPI or bank details. Prices are in Indian Rupees and include all applicable charges.

Your content

You retain ownership of any video you upload. By uploading you grant us a limited licence to process the video (including sending audio to our speech-recognition provider, Sarvam AI) solely to provide the service. Uploaded videos are deleted from our server as soon as the captioned copy is returned to you.

Acceptable use

Do not upload content that is illegal, infringes third-party rights, or is harmful to others. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms without refund.

Availability

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uptime. We are not liable for consequential losses arising from downtime.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be notified by email.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Kompally, India.
